Parking at DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen

Unlike most Copenhagen concert venues, the choice here is not hard: one car park dominates on both capacity and distance. We still give three recommendations — closest, cheapest and guaranteed space — because the large car park runs a tiered rate while the alternatives have a fixed price you can work out in advance. Q-Park DR Byen sits right by the concert hall — about 130 m from the entrance — with 500 spaces, far more than any other car park in the area. Prices start at DKK 20 an hour, but it runs a tiered rate that varies across the day and at weekends. Check the signs at the entrance if you want the exact price in advance; we state only the published starting rate.

If you want to know the price exactly in advance, Rued Langgaards Vej 7 is the better choice: 100 spaces about 230 m from the concert hall at a flat DKK 20 an hour, no tiers. For a two-to-three-hour concert that is DKK 40-60, with no working out which rate applies that evening. It is a three-minute walk through DR Byen.

For a sold-out concert, when both DR Byen and the smaller car parks fill, Amagerfælledvej 104 is the reliable reserve: 123 spaces, open around the clock, capped at DKK 300 a day. At DKK 25 an hour it is slightly above the others, but it sits outside the immediate concert-hall traffic and so fills less often. You are paying for a guaranteed space, not a saving.

DR Koncerthuset opened in 2009 as part of DR Byen in Ørestad Nord, designed by Jean Nouvel and known for its blue façade, which doubles as a projection surface. It houses four halls, the largest seating around 1,800 and home to the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. Ørestad was built around the metro with large car parks rather than street bays, and DR Byen station is a few minutes from the entrance. That is why parking at DR Koncerthuset is about picking the right car park rather than hunting for a space.
