Parking at DGI Byen in Copenhagen

Hourly rates sit close together — DKK 40 to 44 — so the choice mostly comes down to how long you stay. For a couple of hours the nearest car park is the obvious pick. For a full day the day cap is what counts: DKK 280 against DKK 440. Q-Park's surface car park at Tietgensgade 65 is about 115 m from DGI Byen — a one-minute walk — and open around the clock. It costs DKK 44 an hour, capped at DKK 440 a day. With 35 spaces it is small, though, so it fills quickly for larger tournaments and events. Even closer are the municipal street spaces on Tietgensgade, about 55 m from the entrance: green zone, DKK 45 an hour 8am-6pm and DKK 18 in the evening, and you can pay directly in the FreeSpot app. The street has no day cap, so for a full day a car park is cheaper.

For a long day, Carsten Niebuhrs Gade 6F is the best arithmetic: 90 spaces about 310 m away, with a rate starting at DKK 40 an hour and a day cap of DKK 280 — DKK 160 below Q-Park's DKK 440. It runs a tiered rate, so check the signs at the entrance for the full scale. For a short visit the difference is small; for a full tournament or conference day it is real.

When the surface car park is full, Q-Park's garage at Tietgensgade 65 is the safe choice: 192 spaces about 250 m from the entrance, open around the clock and at the same price — DKK 44 an hour, max DKK 440 a day. It is the largest car park near DGI Byen and the obvious pick for bigger events.

DGI Byen sits in Vesterbro right behind Copenhagen Central Station and houses a swimming centre, sports halls, a gym, a hotel and a conference centre. It is used both for everyday exercise and for tournaments and large conferences with many guests at once. The Central Station is a few minutes' walk away, and if you drive, the nearest car parks are the ones on Tietgensgade.
